My cousins husband brought a battery and the alternator to the Mitsubishi, Got it running and took it to try and fix the oil leak that kills the alternator and put some tires on it.
We went to the ER in Livingston and they gave me a shot of Predneson (sp) that is supposed to help...
I got a piece of mail that says I ain't CDLA anymore.
I may go turn in my paperwork and logs and come back north to my small town DL office and see if showing them I do in fact have a medical card I can save myself.
But to be perfectly frank if I never haul placarded hazmat or drive a big truck again it won't hurt my feeler too much.

    Define better Chopper.
Oh yeah, life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone.
Did 5 yesterday. But the way I run all over town means I don't have enough fuel money to finish the week.

    chopper103in Thanks this.

Yes it is better. But I would say at least a week before I could put on a watch again.
It was a two day. Bellville to Ceva. (Getting monataness sp?) To go there every week and twice this week.
And had I screwed around west Houston a while i could have saved 20-30 miles on number two.
Every job I click on wants to have all sorts of schools and such call me. And a supposed work at home site wants 49.95 up front. I guess we know how they make money. I get more driving job info than anything else.
But it's been 4 years or so since i drove a big truck.
No good company is going to hire me.
And i REALLY don't wish to be OTR again anyhow.

Life goes on LONG after the thrill of living is gone.

Yesterday started out ok. But it sorta went downhill from there. Got 3 hazmat class 9 at SDV going to Manchester Terminal Port of Houston. After loaded I went to get a sample at Vopak and took it to Texmark. Delivered Manchester and went to Friendswood for radioactive medical stuff going to BTX Airfreight. Now at roughly 3pm I had two things.
A pick up in Cleveland (pretty near home) and a pick up at MW Industries. I was told to go pick up MW. Then go to Cleveland and then go back to Houston to deliver MW.
I had sent that I got my last fuel. And the dork who was dispatching doesn't seem to understand. Anyhow I'm up at 4AM to be sure I can get to Hwy 6 about 4 miles south of I-10 by 7am sharp. Don't know how far I'll be able to go after that.
Oh and the thing I'm delivering this morning? A flange at about 8# that's in my back seat.

The mechanic got me to follow him to a station and he used a card and got me $50 of fuel. Ended up with 4 runs. Last was 8 large heavy cartons going to Washington Ave near downtown.

Probably I'll only get charged $65-$70 for the "loan" of my pay for the fuel....

if they charge you 65-70 for 50 in fuel , that is 20-40% ......that is a rip off, gouging.......loan sharking......really kicking a man while he is down

    Rocks Thanks this.
