I just want to say before I go to bed that if I were someone who was fed up and thinking about quitting trucking, today/tonight would have been the final straw. A total of 9:10 driving time and only 374 miles. My trip plan had me running a total of 570 miles so I could be staged for delivery tomorrow in GA. It should have been a cakewalk. But wrecks, traffic, and more wrecks just kept coming. It got to the point I just had to laugh at the repeated kicks to the balls.
I was about 10 minutes from having to take a 30. Instead of burning 30 minutes just to go another hour or so down the road, I stopped for a 10. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

    Pigbacon Thanks this.

Assuming you have a smart phone or tablet, you might want to try the Keep Truckin log app. It's what I used at my last job instead of actual paper logs. You can email the logs to yourself and the company. It also has a dot inspection mode, fax capability, etc.. Its free too. Ive kept it on my tablet just in case my peoplenet takes a dump too.

Doesn't Peoplenet have an app as well, thought I read that somewhere?

It's not working for me. So I am just using paper. I'll hold them and send copies to safety. If I need by back logs for an inspection safety can send them...

There is a Peoplenet app, but it is mostly for reading messages sent to the truck when you're not in it. There is an option to change from off to on (or on to off) duty...but anytime I've used that, my truck's logbook didn't change. It's just handy to have when checking in to a customer to make sure you have all the load info that was sent to you available.

@WalterSobchak, I use to use that app, but a while back they complicated it by making a duty status change 2 or 3 steps instead of just a 1 button operation. Then when the majority of users complained about the 'upgrade', all the dev's and tech support would say is...keep using it, you'll get use to it. They lost a lot of users over that issue. They kept sending me an invitaion to return, but I told them to stuff it and quit e-mailing me. Finally had to add them to the blocked senders list on my e-mail account.

4mer trucker and carramrod32 Thank this.

Well, my unload last night went smooth, and I was in no rush to pick my next load up today since I have 4 days to drive 700 miles. Got to the shipper around noon. 3 pallets, all of 3000 lbs...and DC all the way to Hagerstown was a major fuster-cluck. Took me almost 3 hours. I got to the Hagerstown Peelot and called it a day.

I did see a high speed crash on the opposite side of the interstate today. On the way to pick up this load, a car tried to pass on the right then squeeze back in the left lane, but misjudged where their back bumper was, got turned sideways, over corrected, turned back to the right and took out the car it was trying to pass, then that car lost control, turning right, right into the path of another car. 5 or 6 vehicles, and car parts scattered everywhere. Sorta looked like a Nascar restrictor plate crash. This is why I HATE the northeast!!!!
