    Mad at myself.

Took my break in Beloit, got into my truck and got a lamp warning. Replaced the left lowbeam, then took off, just to get rocked by a very nasty t-storm. 60 MPH gusts and rain so thick I had to slow down to 40. Weather band was saying bad til 930 pm (this was at 720pm). I had 4 hours left and decided to camp out at the Love's in S. Beloit since 2 hours isn't enough to get through Chicago if I wait it out.

Sure as Heck, I park it, and 45 minutes later the storm has passed. Should have just pressed on, but I had a safe place and decided not to risk the side-winds and predicted golf-ball sized hail. False alarm, just wasted 4 hours.

Almost took off, but trying to find parking on the 80 in Indiana there, I just haven't driven that route enough to feel confident, since I've seen Chicago take nearly three hours to get through from Beloit more than once.

Basically made a judgement call and it was a bad one. Ticked off because instead of getting to Aberdeen MD tommorrow night for my Mon 10pm delivery, I'll be driving Monday, just as everyone is headed back home from the weekend....

Doraville, just figure 3-5 hours. Whatever, I get paid after 2, I just dealt with it. It's an issue if you have a tight second delivery or pickup. I talked to a couple of the guys there and was informed $20 will have an enormous effect on your wait times... just sayin...

If you check the truckerpath app, there are 2 seperate truck parking areas on the turnpike in western Indiana with no facilities and a TON of space. The first one isn't too far east of Chicago. Good to use in a pinch either direction.

Hopefully I won't have to pick up there again. Only time in my 6 months with the company that I went there, and with luck, I will have moved on before it comes up again.

Those parking areas on 80 in Indiania are around mm 37 and 155. Huge lots with no services. They are on both e and w bound sides... Always good in a pinch.

    HeavyHauler33 Thanks this.

I remember when they changed some things last year. I got used to it. Admittedly it's not as quick as peoplenet, but in my opinion it's still much quicker than filling out a paper log with the calculations and paper dvir. Plus you can keep it current and still edit if need be a lot easier.

Just swapped loads with RickyDickeyDo at the Petro outside KC. Not much time to chat as he had to get moving towards Denver, but it was nice meeting another driver from the forum.

I'm now headed down to Fort Worth. Gonna get a 34 in before delivery. Only 5 hours left on the clock. Would probably be 10 were it not for Cincinatti/I75 Thursday and Atlanta on Friday.

    RickyDickyDo Thanks this.

Does anyone else have issues with their trip odometers resetting themselves? I use 3 of the 4. A is reset after I deliver each load, B is reset on the 1st of the month (or after I shut down on the last day of the month) and C is reset when I fuel. Randomly, either B or C will just reset mid trip. According to B right now, I have 2745 miles for the month...I know I have more and there isn't a combination of any load miles that will add up to that amount.
