The 3000 is rated to run a 12,000 btu ac as well. I do not remember the time frame. The manual underates hiw long it will run for. It says it will only run my 8500 btu for 10hrs and I promise you.. after after 12 - 15 hrs I have never run out of gas. It should run a 12,000 for at least 10 hrs if not more. Someone who has both should be able to answer that question.
Although in my opinion 12000 btu is a bit excessive. A good 8500 btu will more than do the job. Not all window ac's are the same. Some do not work as well as others. That was the reason for my comment about the 8500 btu GE not performing as well as the Frigidaire. The Fridaire will make the windows sweat on the inside of the truck if you set it down to 60f. I have been rolled up in my comforter like a mummy to keep my feet warm while it was 95f out side.
If all you want to run is the ac then I guess go do the 12000. But if you read up on some reviews for window ac's you find out which work better than others.
My ac and generator are both over over 1 yr old and I use them every time I stop. I had a Black and Decker dorm sized fridge behind the driver seat and it started making grinding noises 3 weeks ago. I ate what I could and tossed the rest till I could get a new fridge in here. So I dont recommend that fridge to last more than 1 yr.

@Hurst how does the air get back to the sleeper if it is in the front window? I ask because I know my little 8000 stand up A/C sits in the passenger seat blowing air directly back to the sleeper but it just isn't enough.
Plus, how did you frame in the gaps in the window around your unit? -

The truck ac is ice cold plus I run the ac in the sleeper while driving. Its the one thing they they do very well in Fla and that is working on your ac.
Once I crank up the generator and get the window unit fired up, I set it to 67f and shut the truck off. It has no problem keeping it cool. But lets say the sleeper is hot because I took a cab to a hotel or something away from the truck.. the window unit takes about a good 30 mins to get it cool in here. I have a small fan I plug in and set it on a little fold away table to help circulate the air when its hot like that. Then once its cooled down I turn off the fan. Its really a good ac unit. The GE I have struggled. It cooled it down.. but not as good as the Frigidair I have now.
As for sealing it up. Lowes sell these 3ft long 3x3 foam insulation pads in plastic bags that works perfectly. I just squish it in between the ac and the window frame.. 1 pc goes all the way around, side to side.

Not sure why.. maybe the vent hose puts off too much heat.. or its just a cruddy ac.. but like yours.. its not that great.
