Hi guys. I have joined the club. Have been stalking this thread for a long time. I will say one thing all companies go through good and bad times regardless of whether or not it's an election year. And no company is perfect. Except for me I am perfect company. Come say hi in a truck stop lol

I was on the yard yesterday, getting a few things done on the truck. they asked me if I'm interested in one of the new volvos and I signed up. Got a few things smoothed over and discussed as far as miles and stuff. It's been a bit of rough ride last few months so I'm hoping the second half of this year can get a bit better now that I have the medical card crap out of the way. it'll be nice to have new hardware to run, as well. I'll admit it's still one of the last few good small companies around. if they can iron out a few issues on planning it'll get better. As for frieght, im not sure what will happen depending on whether the screwed up economy. I've been kind of disappointed with the so-called "recovery" that's gone on since the recession ended. Maybe there's been some gains but the manufacturing sector still seems weak to me. Personally I still think there needs to be some kind of way to get out of all these bogus trade deals (like NAFTA and other deals with China which basically destroyed the manufacturing base in this country.)

Are those volvos automatic? I will be swinging by the yard on thursday. Also what direction are you heading. I will be coming out of washington in a few hours.

I'm going east... I think they are all automatic, since Volvo made it standard in all their trucks...also the ones I looked at looked like they had led headlights.... really nice inside.

I am not a fan of autos. I will stick with this truck. Just curious but where do most of your loads go to. Like is it all random or specific customers?

I guess a lot of drivers were requesting it so the switched to weekly. Admittedly it does make it a bit easier to cover the bills.

Oh really? That's finny. I work for GP as a driver and I never even heard nor seen anything of the sorts at all!!! I assume that you are a recruiter for another company???
Bob, the owner of GP once drove a load 60 miles for me himself last month when I was having a little issues on hours near the Fargo ND area where he lives! I usually keep my mouth shut on negative comments but this is totally outrageous and untrue so much!

If anyone wants to believe that crap that fine its their business but good grief. Get real will ya?
I don't do drama so I will not respond to any potential arguments on this.
    Nuff said!
    Case closed.

Not really. Bills come in once a month. If you were paid monthly you could pay all your bills and divide the rest over the weeks until you are paid again. It cannot be any simpler.

Honestly I would prefer the monthly paycheck.
