    No. Dead serious, I'm afraid.

One good thing about that is we can lock them up, so we don't have to worry about whether or not we can find one that works.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

I wish ours were assigned, or at least checked in/out so there was some accountability. We had an awful lot of them disappearing on customer docks when they wouldn't make it back on our trailer after a drop/hook. When you know you need one, and they're all gone--that's a tough scenario. Sometimes I can make it work by asking favors or using a customer's jack to stage freight for my next stop, but that's not always possible. Especially if there are 3 or more skids going to a place with no dock.

Luckily, we just got a few brand spankin' new ones. I hope they stick around.

You and I know that, but a lazy driver might opt for it being in the way over actually carrying stuff multiple trips up a driveway.

One thing I hate more than almost anything else in this job is bringing freight back. That can be a real blow to my pride, even if it isn't my fault in any way.

Just had two items have to spend the day with me, last week. Because the private customer didn't have a phone number to contact them with, nor were they even home (turned out to be their weekend home, and they weren't even there). I hate drop ships, dropping freight for a customer at a location that isn't their own.

One of my idiot coworkers (that recently got fired) left a pallet jack at a customers location. It was a liftgate delivery ...how the hell do you forget a pallet jack?!?

    Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

A couple questions to you folks...
Do you drive the same truck every day or does it change constantly?
How much "free" time do you have, from the time you leave your terminal/yard/barn till you get back?

I used to run a route where I would have deliveries on the pup then would have to drop the rest of the pup at a DC. I always did the right thing. We had a customer that I could drop the pallet jack off at and then come pick it up later after I picked up an empty since I would usually be picking up at his customer anyway. I got shuffled around a bit on routes for a while and then it seemed every pup I picked up at this DC had a pallet jack on it. Meanwhile everyone was wondering where all out pallet jacks went.

    Lazy ### co-workers.
