all i can say is, I NEVER GIVE notice.
the company WILL NOTICE in 2 weeks, i ain't there no more.
i treat them, as they treated me.
no respect towards me, or the inability to work with me?
then screw'em
now yes i know, it's "the proper thing to do, give a notice"
but this has NEVER stopped me from getting another job.
get another job lined up first, then clean out and get out.Friday, CargoWahgo, Western flyer and 1 other person Thank this. -
Twice I've quit a company and attempted to give notice and both times I was routed straight in with a load and sent off with a handshake and a come back to work for us anytime.
Giving notice doesn't seem to mean anything as a driver. Just quit, drivers come and drivers go, a company that throws a fit over you leaving probably wasn't worth much anyway.Friday, Lepton1, David_Simpson and 2 others Thank this. -
Friday, CargoWahgo, NavigatorWife and 3 others Thank this.

Never give notice. It is like wearing large mirrored glasses in a poker game. Protect yourself always in this life.

so now when you fill ut applications, (if the new job didn't work out), many if not all applications ask, "were you ever fired from a job, and why"?
although you'd have a valid reason (gave notice) you still got fired, but i would think a new employer would shrug his shoulders, once you explained you gave notice first..THEN got fired!Last edited: Jun 21, 2016
