I'll have to agree, Put it on your app, put you were not at fault, I could be wrong, but cant see a company disqualifying you for it, I have no personal experience on this though
Not at fault accident, do I still put it on application?

It's a DOT reportable accident so you've no choice.
123456 and jdiesel3406 Thank this. -
If it happened as late as Mar/Apr 2012: IT WILL SHOW ON YOUR PSP CSA 2013 Safety Report. I just got a copy of my report from the Freedom of Information Office in DC. Two D.O.T. stops, one in April 2012, the other in May 2013 are now permanently on my PSP for the next 2 years.

Not to sound like a critic as former law enforcement and a ling term driver a no fault accident is usually a accident where you would be parked and someone drove under you while parked but even if your in the vehicle and do nothing wrong you are a percentage at fault just for being in the driver seat I find it hard to belive that accident of that extent would not be documented in some sort of public record I dont know check your csa report and get a report of your driving record both which can be obtained for a small fee.. Granted the officer may have not cited you but it is not the officers job to detrmin fault we just document the scene and turn that information over the the courts and public records department

I've been with this company for 4 years and had an accident that was not my fault but was a fatality I was not cited or anything because I was the 3rd person to hit this guy and more came following behind but I put in a application for a new job to make more money and got rejected because of the accident is there anything I can do or am I just out of luck right now?

You hit a car in front of you. It was preventable. You may not have a ticket but from a trucking view point you were following too close. What you can do is apply elsewhere. You have no legal recourse as hiring in the US is at will which means they do not have to give you a reason to hire or fire you in the US.
Mtn Gal Thanks this. -

You have a few options
You can work there and list the accident on applications until you get hired somewhere else.
Or
You can leave and not list the accident. The problem isn't the spotless record the problem is your insurance Most companies wants people with at least 6mo to. Year because that's what their insurance requirements are. And let's face it brand new 150k$ tractor and 30k$ for a brand new trailer I wouldn't put a rookie in it eitherLast edited: Jul 12, 2016
