You are very welcome. By the way, I made a phone call for you a few minutes ago to the recruiting department. Millis goes back 3 years for your MVR, that's it. Unless you had a DUI. I explained that you had a couple incidents 4 years ago. She said don't worry about it. The lane is clear bro, give it some gas and hammer it!

Wow thanks brother, yea I put in my application 2 days ago, I'm getting my medical card next week then I'll be taking cdl permit test whenever I get a day off. But I won't be able to start until I build up my savings to be gone for two months.

Be careful...that permit is only good for six months. You might want to wait until it's closer to class time to get it. If you need time to save money, I'd wait to get the permit. You'll need it to be valid for class AND your time with your trainer until you take your CDL test. That could be a few months, might as well wait on it.

So, today was my last day on the road. There was a TON of city driving, completely by accident. We did a 3 hour run in the morning, and a 3.5 hour run after lunch. The second run was awful. We worked our way over to 275, which is the loop around Cincinnati. We caught 75 to go through Cincinnati and got stuck in an outrageous traffic jam due to a disabled vehicle. Bill knows the area well so he pulled us off the highway and we took some godforsaken route that I will never remember and hopefully never revisit. Great practice, but it sucked. Really really sucked. All told I'm a little over 2200 miles at this point. Bill told me that puts me in second place for miles run as a student. Tomorrow I'll be doing a little range time in the morning, because I requested it. Then he is cutting me loose early to go see my wife and daughter. I spoke to my driver trainer when I got back to the hotel so that we can arrange a start time. Looking forward to driving with him. Definitely looking forward to this weekend.

Agreed. There are a lot of people on that road with a gigantic neon death wish around their necks. "Hey, let's cut off a semi 10 feet in front of it then hit the brakes." Jesus.

I was a slacker yesterday, and didn't post anything yesterday lol. Got a little range time, then signed off on my reviews for class. School is essentially over. I have to go back for a couple days next week, but my time in the truck time is over. Next week is employee orientation. Bill will be going over payroll, benefits, etc with me and getting me signed up for insurance. I made it! It's been a grueling 3 weeks, but rewarding. Perry (my driver trainer) stopped in to chat. I got to see his truck, go over some road rules, and got to know him a little better. He is an absolute RIOT! Love that guy. His truck is an 8 speed, so that will take a little getting used to. But honestly I like the shift pattern better than the 10 speeds I've been running. If you've ever driven stick in a car, an 8 speed is an easy transition because the gear positions will feel much more natural to your brain. In a 10 speed there are some worthless gears that you'll never use anyways. If you had a 1000hp motor and hauling loads that weigh 200k and need special permits, a 10 speed makes sence. Otherwise, screw 'em. While I am with him, we will be doing a pre-trip every day. He will also be honing my backing skills daily, so that I am ready for my CDL test. Well guys, I think that's a wrap for this thread. I may post a few more comments next week to go over current payscales and benefits. Not sure about that yet, because that information will eventually become outdated. I will be starting a new thread for my experiences with Perry.

Cool man let me know if you choose the straight pay or the per diem. Can't wait to hear about your experiences with the trainer in a real world setting
