Why answer a phone call from work when you're on the way to the beach with family?

.... This was another stupid rookie mistake, the first rookie mistake was challenging his terminal manager.... I'm not saying be a butt surfer, but learn to" fly under the radar better "

    Hi Donnie1962,

    How are you?

I like your style, I like the way you see things and don't let people run all over you.
It took me many years, I no longer am a slave to my phone when my company calls up to have me "drop" everything and report to work immediately, due to an "emergency". Quite often, I am NOT at home on my off time when the "emergency" arises.

I will admit that I do get very nervous if called for a drugs screen and must report by a certain time. As in trucking, one CANNOT have a "refusal", regardless of whether or not the telephone message was heard.
I personally have never smoked or used drugs. What little drinking that I did, I gave up many years ago.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Random Testing – CDL drivers are subject to unannounced random testing. A driver may be directed to take a drug test even when at home in an off-duty status. Random alcohol testing may only occur when the driver is on-duty or immediately before or after. Once notified to report for random testing, drivers must immediately report to the testing location. Delaying your arrival may be considered a refusal (see 49 CFR 40.191), which is equivalent to testing positive.

Thank you for finding that law.there's been quite a few who got zapped with a test refusal because they didn't have transportation to the test site.

If nothing has changed no. It’s just a revolving door a while back. But things might have changed.
