Pittston is a good place to pick up in and out quick 1 mile from truckstop.
Carlisle is a broker load of soda.

    RMU91 Thanks this.

Finally finished with my 5 stopper in Texas. Thanks for the BBQ info, @Pigbacon - had some good brisket & ham last night, AND got me a couple of those famous fried pies! Now, Matt hooked me up with a 2100 mile (including dead head) run from San Antonio to Bloomington, NJ. Hey @ncmickey...since you seem to be the pizza connoisseur AND a Joisey-ite, anyplace near there with good pizza?

Who is the go to cb radio guy on here? There has to be one!

My trainer had one that we only used if there was traffic. That's all I want one for.

I read that some newer trucks come with a built in antenna that's not so obvious. How do I find out if that's the case with my truck?

I looked inside the compartment in my truck and I don't see an obvious place to plug a cb radio into power. But I do see a coaxial hookup.

Can anyone help me out please? :)

What year is your truck? If it is a 17, the antenna is located on the outside of the truck, midway between the left and right sides of the back of the cab. You will need to stop at a CB repair shop to have the SWR calibrated. Although the Specialist may say something like, "I can't adjust that antenna," I had mine adjusted in Carlisle, PA a few months ago. PM me for Dave's number at the Sunoco in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where I got my CB work done for under $20.00. He works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The place to plug the CB in is located directly above your head. Again, if you're driving a 17, the panel above your head is detachable. Behind it, you'll find the transponder for the PeopleNet System (try not to unplug it. Bryce doesn't like that very much, and you may receive a call from any number of high-ranking officials...). Slide the transponder out of the way, and you should see a red and black set of plugs behind it. Take a picture of it and show that picture to any "teller" at nearly any electronics shop, and said "teller" will sell you a set of quick connects/disconnects for a few bucks.

Now, with the CB, CB Plug, Antenna Lead, and Plugs, you are ready to attach those items to their respective leads, strap the CB into place, get the SWR adjusted, and enjoy...
