    13 speed Eaton. This is the fourth time we've had the unit in for intermittent loss of communication to the TCU. I've driven this thing a few hundred miles in the last few weeks and haven't been able to get it to act up. But it has logged faults from it. Freightliner had us replace TCU, X-Y shifter, CPC, ect... Now they wanted us to tear apart the OEM harness and see if we can find the cause of the 1939 problems. This truck is very odd though, I unplugged a J1939 terminating resistor while driving down the interstate and it didn't skip a beat or log a single fault.

    Sighhhh, yeah wiring harnesses and pretty much any electrical fault is a royal PIA to digagnos and deal with. Sounds like you found the fault though...:)

    Those 10 spd Eaton Autoshifts we had, they changed the power source to direct from the battery to avoid that J1939 code, it worked on some, not all.
