So, stupid question for you guys with more OD experience than I...

Maryland curfew is 30 minutes after sunrise and 30 minutes before sunset, but it also states in the book amber lights are required for night travel. There is no size restriction listed in the book for either, so what is allowed to travel at night? I'm not under the load yet, but I'm running a barely OD load over that way and the receiver wants it at 6am. Seeing as how MD curfew laws say I won't be able to drive until 7 am and there does not appear to be anywhere near there to park, I'm trying to figure out how this is supposed to happen.

I assume I will either be permitted for night travel or have to get the receiver to crap me a parking place in the middle of town or inform they will have to take it later. I know all of that will get sorted out tomorrow, not really too concerned.

I guess my question is more, where does MD draw the line on what can move at night and what can't? Like I said, I'm not too concerned, I know we will work it out between the customer, OD, and myself, I'm just curious in the mean time since it's after hours and I can't call.

Your actual permit will have that info on it. Sometimes overlength and overweight can travel at night, it depends on width, length , weight and state

Yeah I know the permit will specify. The load is only like 9'2" wide, so I'm thinking maybe since it's under 10' I might be able to run at night. I was just curious in the mean time, until I get the permits tomorrow, if anyone knew the restrictions off hand since the book isn't clear on it.

Lol, did you anyone else sitting empty? In
Been here 5 years and 9 months, no real difference in the overall deal. I get paid way faster than when I leased on, I still do exactly what I want to do, ibactually like the elog, its like anything else, you got to be willing to adapt to new things, things are always changing. I see trucks from every company. Sitting empty, who knows why. Everyone is empty at some point. That's not really an indicator of much actually, and getting a load out of a dead area falls under the blind hog finding an acorn theory, a blind hog finds an acorn now and again. But do it 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks in a row, and ya might be on to something. I do as well now as I did when I first came here, no complaints. You folks just remember Dec 2017 will be here soon, where all gonna go then?

Again, its hard to say, without the route, where from and to, etc. Hard to know, there could be a temporary restriction etc, where are u picking up and going to?
