And why wouldn't a companies contracts benefit them?

Your whining like you've been robbed. They paid you for a week off, before you contractually earned it.

If it makes you feel better think of it like this. You took an unpaid week off a while ago, and you were paid for your last week a while ago...

These are part of the dangers of giving 2 weeks notice. I tell everyone I can, never ever give 2 weeks notice. More bad things can happen than good. The only person looking out for me in this life absolutely and truly is me. People say 'well it's the right thing to do', no the right thing to do is to always protect yourself. Get all your money then quit.

Exactly! But apparently there is a thing called "fronted". Even the 18+ year dispatcher who handed me my 14 cent paycheck had never heard of this. I handed him my paycheck stub. He had no answer.

That all sounds good, but Estes pays you the end of next week for the week you just worked.

...so they've got you either way.

There's no "whining" going on here. This thread is simply letting potential and present Estes workers know about this practice so that they are not caught out there like I was.

...and as I mentioned,I still stay in contact with many long-timers there. Text,email.. None of them have heard of this.

Luckily I am not dependent on the full check. If feel sorry for someone who is. Be prepared.

So there's no "whining". ...This reminds me when I was OTR. On the CB everyone was accused of "whining". Then music would play. Then the "I've got no panties on" garbage would start. Then someone would tell a tired driver backing in a hole in a truckstop that it's ok to back up when it wasn't.

Oh I don't miss any of that!

Dude i didn't say you were whining, i just pointed out that the same deal is common in many industries. And explained how it works. Does it benefit the company? Of course it does. But how many employer/employee contracts don't?
