I now take a DOT physical every year, blood pressure, and I wear glasses. My license however has no restrictions on it. My last medical the Dr. Said next time DMV has me test they will probably add a restriction for corrective lenses. I told him I have been wearing bifocals for 10 years, every medical they tell me that, DMV has yet to add the restriction.

Yeah I've got an issue with just one of my eyes, the other is near perfect. SO, I had to get plastic frames. Otherwise, they told me the 1 thicker lens would look weird next to the thinner lens. The frames i picked are pretty #### interesting looking lol. I found them in the prescription sunglasses section. I bought the same frame for both the shades and the regular clear glasses, and I have no clue what them frames will look like with clear lenses in them lol. I can't wait to find out! They look nice tinted! I'm excited to see if they make me look smarter or dumber

Costco, mine has RayBan sunglasses you can get in prescription, and you can order online from Oakley if you have extra cash burning in your pocket as the Oakley's are pricey.

Can I ask you all a question? I was reading a thread about the freight industry slowing in winter months, especially for new hires/trainees. Am I doing the right thing going to school, rather than filling out applications for obtaining my CDL over the road? I am beginning to wonder if all of this waiting is in my best interests. I am still heading full steam toward school, but I am starting to wonder if I should consider OTR schooling at a terminal that will promise me a job upon completion. Is school the right path or is it a hoop that I can avoid jumping through without negative consequences?
Of course, maybe I should go ahead with the school but begin looking for "pre-hire" letters? Can someone please explain the process of pre-hire letters? I am trying to budget my time to look at all of the companies that this forum says will hire new graduates, but I am unsure if they will hire individuals from out of state?lagging Thanks this. -

Hey brother, one thing you could also do is contact hireright at www.hireright.com. Ask for your full background check. It doesn't cost you anything for yourself. It takes a couple weeks, but they will pull Criminal History (records that they are allowed by law to access), an MVR, and employment histories.
Its always good to know whats on your records.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -
At this point in time I'm in the dark about the grant. They told me I failed the math test & I need to take it again and pass to qualify for the grant. So, I am trying to study my division (with remainders) now. The problem is, they wont tell me how long it's going to take to GET the grant, AND they're telling me that NONE of the CT schools have renewed their contract with WIOA since it changed from WIA to WIOA this year... So I have to wait for the schools to renew their contracts too. It's beginning to worry/frustrate me.
