All mechanical B model CAT. Didnt come with it. Although a friend of mine has an old truck with a manual Cummins, it had cruise of some kind most of it is gone but the cylinders are still bolted to the floor. So I know it's possible and haven't searched the all knowing Google yet

Well, back in the day..... You could buy this steel rod deal that went between the pedal and seat bracket. Wasn't t real cruise control like today's trucks. But you could stand up to piss in the bottle without soaking your socks. With the new rules, you may as well stop to pee.

"Hammer down" was really a "thing" back in "the day". Saw off a 5 lb sledge hammer and put it on the throttle. That was cruise control.

I can see common sense to slow down when the truck trying to pass is creeping along and it looks like a 5-7 mile pass, so yes common sense would come in to play as that is very dangerous to have two trucks side by side for that long.

Common courtesy though? No that is not our responsibility to show common courtesy to slow down for a rude passer like that who cannot pass quickly.

The actual common courtesy resides with the rude passer who tries to do the 5-7 mile slow pass and should know his limitations and be courteous enough to back off and maintain the proper 7 second interval.

Common courtesy is holding the door open for someone. Rude behaviour is purposely closing the door as someone is walking up to it, even holding the door tightly closed as they try to open it. This is how I see these rude princess passers. They are standing on the other side of the glass door holding it closed preventing me from coming in; very rude.

To me it doesn't matter one whit whether another driver is passing me slowly or not. If they are passing me it is because overall they are running faster than I am. Yes, it IS my responsibility to show common courtesy in that situation.

It is entirely counterproductive to ascribe pejorative labels on other drivers, like "Princess Passer" or "Rude Passer". What does THAT accomplish, other than to put YOURSELF in a mindset to create drama and make the pass far longer than it needs to be in order to "show them a 'lesson'"? That's a fool's errand.

Let it go. Let it flow.

These drivers who run the fast lane snail races are the same mentality of driver who park in the fuel island then go take a shower. The same mentality of driver who throw their trash and piss out the window in the truckstop. The same mentality of driver who play on their phone and watch movie while driving.

I'm trying to get it across that these drivers who run snail races down the freeway are rude; devoid of common courtesy. They are the ones creating the drama when they cannot pass quick fast in a hurry then expect the other guy to slow down from their own cruising speed to accommodate the snail race passer who is demonstrating very Princess qualities.

Now, if only more people would use it. I just love driving along with my cruise set at 60, coming up on somebody going 50, only to pull out to pass then and have the jerk in question decide to mash on it when you get next to them.:banghead:

I was guilty today, an older car with an old woman, OnGuard clocks her at 42, I'm at 62, she sped up to 62 as I tried to blow by her, I couldn't get behind her as I had a car beside me, her exit was coming up and she slowed WAY down way before the off ramp, women sigh.
Earlier a semi and a dually "Hoosier TrAnsport" and some cars merged on. I grabbed the middle lane, oddly dually decided he was going to run 62 right beside me, I blew the air horn, flipped him and his ugly gal off, they finally slowed so I could get back over. 40 miles later they decided they wanted to run 70 and passed
