Sorry for the late update, orientation ran a bit long today, got picked up from the hotel around 7 am, went to the terminal and immediately took a 90 degree backing test to make sure we can back up. Started with 13 in the class, lost one because he backed into another trailer. After everyone did that, we started filling out paperwork and taking drug tests. Once that was done we went to the doctors and got our physicals done, then back to the terminal for lunch, which was subway, we each got a sheet of paper and were told to order what we wanted. 6 or 12 inch. After lunch is finishing road tests and paperwork. They have some rules that seem strange but they are to protect you and the company. They run nothing but virgin tires on all of their equipment. All trucks are 10 speed freightliner cascadias except for 10 western stars they just added. Overall they seem like a company where as long as you pay attention and use your head you can make good money and drive nice equipment.

Nice! Keep 'em coming. Just a piece of advice for you, if you find anything good at K&B don't mention it here, or else they'll thing you are one those recruiters from heaven.

Sounds like they need to lose a few instructors who allowed a rookie to back into an object.

I have seen plenty of driving trainers/mentors/instructors yelling and screaming at new drivers trying to train them. It is very hard for the driver to hear the guy on the ground even when he is screaming. Hand signals are the next best but what I recommend is having those little grms radios, one for the driver, up on the dash or somewhere then the trainer has one and talks to the driver from outside. When the driver hears Stop Stop Stop that works much better than yelling and screaming and throwing a hissy fit. Also that driver would have a chance to stay in orientation and earn income which helps our nation build tax dollars from his income.
