Who does UT dispatch, my buddy? Feels like one of his loads. I had a 1300 delivery this afternoon in Springville, UT. My next load shows picking up in Wilder ID (south out of Ontario OR into ID) at 1500 tomorrow. I call them to see if they have overnight parking, and if they load early because this load delivers in Memphis TN at 2 am on Friday. He informs me that my load doesn't pick up tomorrow, it picks up today at 1500...so once I got done in Springville, I bust arse up here (7 hrs of drive time later) and make it by 2100, only 6 hrs late. So, now I am a work in, not allowed to stay on site for a break, and my 14 hr coach might turn into a punkin before I leave.

On a brighter note, I saw something funny as I was coming thru town. A cowboy, in full uniform walking his horse...down the sidewalk. I guess since it was dark, he felt safer there than the road. With todays government, I am surprised they don't make them put reflective stripes on their butt (the horse's butt, not the cowboy's)

 

It really doesn't matter to me at this point, all it does is reaffirm my decision to leave is the right choice.

 

Oh I could see the cowboy's butt too, gotta cover all bases...

 

In keeping with fairness, I have a positive post. The customer in Wilder, ID turned out to be one of the kind we like to go to. Even though I was late (according to their schedule), they put me to a door fairly quickly, and once I set the brakes, my trailer never stopped moving they were loading me so fast. Turns out, thanks to me calling them and warning them of my tardiness, they put me ahead of the other 'late' drivers that didn't bother to call ahead. So, all told, I think I was on their property less than an hour...trucking in general needs more places like this!!!

Says they allow street parking. Can any confirm this? If so, how many trucks will it hold? Better place to park? Thanks

 

Yep they do. Also parking along the street. There's also a truck stop close by pay to park.
