CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation has released its plan to reverse lanes as part of Wednesday's evacuation in preparation for Hurricane Matthew.
All lanes of I-26 eastbound will be reversed from the I-526 interchange in North Charleston all the way to I-77 in Lexington County (Columbia) That's about 97 miles.
You can view conditions on I-26 on our Traffic Map or on the SCDOT camera page.
Gov. Nikki Haley said the reversal is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday - TODAY.

In Columbia that isn't good

Reversed... as in the Eastbound lanes now becoming Westbound lanes? I've never heard of such a thing.

Common practice , when needed. Drop down gates at the ramps to prevent traffic from getting on the hwy . Get as many people out of harms way as possible .

People are evacuating due to the Hurricane. I-526 is bumper to bumper right now.

Hurricane Evacution Route Plan activated ... must be a complete chaos, regardless. Probably more chaotic then might otherwise be.
Seems they have all the traffic cameras taken offlineBut I'd walk on glass on my hands and knees if Nikki Haley ask me to. She's a hottie IMO.
