I have only been driving for 1 1/2 years and pull a side dump dirt hauler with a kw but have had about 12 flat tires in the past 3 months, mostly on the trailer, but a few on the drive tires and none on the steer tires. It is usually screws or nails, none of which are present at my yard or job sites that I dump at. Our mechanic claims it is my "driving style" and said that when on the highway, even getting close to the solid white line on the side of the road could pick up these things. This sounds ridiculous to me, and I actually suspect sabotage. I do not veer off the side of the roads or do anything that I can think of that would cause these flats. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

How fast do you usually go? Riding the white line will not destroy 12 tires.

How is the tire wear? Odd looking?

Youre going to have flat tires with side dump,i've had a couple of them. But 12 flats in 3 months, that does seem odd.

Picking up 1's and 2's (rocks from sites) in between drives?

Are these new? Recaps? I heard a story about some Chinese tires not lasting at all.....one even blew up at 100psi just sitting shortly after mounting it...

    Oops nevermind it nails....weird!

If the other drivers aren't getting flats then it's not sabatoge.Ask them what are they doing differently. How are you dumping the material, that could be it also.

Hard to say. I've noticed that nails, screws, etc seem to get kicked up by tires at the front of the vehicle, then into the tires behind them. That would explain no steer tire flats. Weird that no one else on the jobsite has the same issue.

I'd have to agree, for the moment at least. This is the first I've heard of anyone unintentionally flattening 12 tires in 3 months.
