Were you up there too? Wished I had known that... There was a KW there when I pulled around from the other side of the building.

No, it didn't take long to unload the trailer but, for the third day in a row, I had the shop trying to fix an air leak under the cab so I left Richmond several hours later than planned... and so then I didn't get my 10 in prior to the appointment... so I arrived there about 6am for my 11:30am appointment, bumped the dock about an hour early, then finished up my nap before rolling south.

They "xrayed" my whole truck coming back.

I am in SoCal and 2 of them live here, but they said it was a company wide problem getting folks home, even if you schedule it weeks in advance, and the reason they have a trainer shortage, drivers are leaving because of it and there is a smaller experience pool. I have sent 2 emails to the recruiters at Abilene and never received a response. I am knocking on local doors, but so far all of them have said they may consider me with 6 to 12 months, but said with the volume of applicants from the megas they get from drivers with a clean record, they prefer 24 months.

Maybe the last driver did ... LOL

Seriously, sorry you had a bad experience.

If it helps, I probably had the same guy, or his brother, and he was still a bit sour several hours later... and I'm as white bread as they come.

I would hate to be that grumpy with people day in and day out... what a sucky job that must be.

Well, since I certainly don't know it all, I must be in that first group, and you are so very welcome.

    {that's an obvious joke as we all know which group you "think" I'm in... LOL}

But seriously, you were, and are, miserable here... or that's the way it comes off... and honestly, the way Abilene runs is NOT for everyone... heck regardless of how they run, Abilene by its very nature is not for everyone.

I even popped off at my FM yesterday about communication issues within this company... no one here completely dismissed everything you said, the very same things happen in our trucks too... or did at one time... we just deal with it differently I guess... and that works for us and results differently.

Honestly, I still think you should check out Danny Herman... they are setup a bit differently than Abilene and might be a much better match for you.

    Coast to Coast
    No NYC/NE,
    And much longer average hauls,

(Hell, that sounds pretty good to me too... if they only had green trucks I might jump ship too... LOL)

But anyway, I sincerely hope that you find happiness and contentment in life... no matter what job comes next.

    Peace Be With You,

Did you say you were in SoCal?
If you do, that may be why no response.
    Abilene doesn't hire in California.

Move to NV... @Chinatown loves it there... :)
