For heat, you'd be much better off getting a Webasto or Espar diesel fueled bunk heater. They cost around $1000, but they're much more efficient and they run off the truck battery.

Yes, get a generator also. Well worth it.

Hah. It was easier for me to bobtail over to the gas pump. Didn't have to worry about carrying a gas can around.

I used to walk with my dog and gas can over to the gas pumps. One time it wouldn't read my card so I tied my dog up to the pump and walked in. The woman was having a #### fit about my dog being tied up out there. I just told her the quicker you process my sale the sooner I get out there instead of wasting time chewing me out for stuff I have done 1000 times.

Often times I would get Abby out and walk over tothe truck stop and tie her up outside while I went inside to go pee. She was fine and made lots of friends while I was inside.

Nope a generator is just fine for otr. The only people on here are the ones they work for a company or "lease ops" that will tell you buy a apu. Yeah sure for they price you're better off buying a used truck with a apu and taking it up and selling the truck lol. A generator on the cat walk or another spare tire basket welded on/box would be ideal for a starting out owner op. Everyone has an opinion sure lol

Ladies and Gentlemen, Ive officially been schooled.

Im a convert now for the gas gennie. Am I so stupid for gunning to get a desiel gennie? Not sure I liked the term throw away engines. I like to think that engines have a soul in them working for you when you care little for it it takes a something out of them I would think.

With that said, that is a pretty righteous establishment of Hurst Light and Power.
