Companies that pay hourly aren't in the business of losing money by tolerating that crap. We've had a few get fired for what they called "stealing time".

Funny few days ago I listend to BBC podcast about driverless cars and trucks. It was really interesting.
They had 3 professors from UK,Netherlands and USA taking about it.It seems that fully driverless cars will require special infrastructure. The lady from USA said that in a near future we in the US can expect driverless trucks on open highways .She said they will be platooning ,meaning 1 truck with a driver will lead and driverless trucks will follow.
It was really interesting,I think you can find it on either BBC or NPR webpage. -
City of Cleveland got rid of all there red light cameras. The state of Ohio never liked Cleveland having them and I forget what happened, but there all gone now.MACK E-6 Thanks this.

What happened to red light cameras in round rock texas was the city lost money on the tickets they issued. Companies install these cameras for a percentage of the ticket. When every one who got a ticket from these things disputed them in court the 40% which was the city's take didn't pay for the court costs. City canceled the contract.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Do you have a link for that? Sounds interesting, but I couldn't find it.

In some jurisdictions folks complained the cameras violated the right to due process in court so they had to be removed. I know some towns in Illinois use them but only at the most dangerous intersections. I remember a few years backs down in Knoxville some clown shot one of them near downtown (guy had issues).Last edited: Sep 24, 2016

I used to work for a company that had local drivers working for $13.00 an hour. This company and your previous employer know EXACTLY why they can't find drivers. The ones that do work for such pitiful pay are complete idiots!diesel drinker and Lonesome Thank this.

15 years ago my first tractor-trailer job was almost with a steel and pipe distributor.
The guy that did the hiring then tried to hand me some malarkey about paying me $3 an hour less than their current trailer driver and $1 an hour less than the straight truck guys because "the market just didn't dictate that tractor trailer drivers should make $15 an hour".
I laughed all the way to the door.diesel drinker, Dna Mach, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
C. R. England still pays 25 cents per mile which the recruiter will try to say is "great" pay. Otr trucking is not worth 25 cpm... Their turnover rate is like 250%

Found an article recently from 1984 about the closing of Lee-Way Transportation. A very common sight on Americas highways and byways for about 50 years. Anyways the article stated the average driver then made about $50,000 per year! Do you realize that $50,000 per yer in 1984 was equivalent to $116,000 NOW?
These guys starting out today earn less than we did back in 2001. What a FLIPPING joke.Florida Playboy Thanks this.
