I honestly think They are the only ones benefiting from that fuel plan.
Kamkor and MachoCyclone Thank this. -
I thought about adding up every fuel routing plan and figuring what jcts share should be...
But anger is bad for blood pressure.MachoCyclone and crxdc Thank this. -
A few notes about the fuel suggested messages:
1. It is supposed to route you the PAID miles from point A to point B. This is the shortest PC miles. Does it always do this? Nope. There are many routes were the program doesn't match the paid routing. One excellent example is Florida to Seattle area (or vise versa) The paid/shortest route takes you across I-90. We don't do I-90. We all know that in order to get paid across I-80, I-84, we have to request that our DM puts a route point along that route (for example Evanston). Our paid miles then get adjusted. The fuel routing DOESN'T know that JCT doesn't run I-90.
2. There are some loads that will give more than 1 suggested route. Example, Joplin, MO to Sparks, NV. You may get the fuel suggestion to go up to I-80 and all the way across, OR take I-40 to Kingman, AZ and over Hoover Dam area. Simply ask for the correct fuel suggestion via fuel macro.
3. It will only give PFJ locations. Yes, this is misleading in the sense that some ppl think it offers the best deals. It does if you stick to PFJ only. Don't think that many ppl are THAT STUPID.....I could be wrong......yeah, I think I am.
Personally, I'm not a fan of this thing. We are all business owners and if you're going to run your own business, you shouldn't need to have your hands held, ### wiped, etc. If that's the case, then go back to being a company driver and allow yourself to be spoon fed.
It's not a perfect system by any means, but like anything else, it's a tool.
Josh (fuel desk) doesn't even answer my calls anymore. He sees my name on caller ID and automatically fixes the errors on it for that load.88 Alpha, crxdc and MachoCyclone Thank this. -
Yep. They have to balance the need for your success with their need to make money. Which is why you gotta look out for yourself and know your numbers.
I honestly don't have a problem fueling at PFJ when it is the best price along my route, but if I can beat that price across the street or a few exits down, then that's where I'm going. Unless the place just looks like a total #### hole.crxdc Thanks this. -

I agree with @Steel Tiger, we are business owners and as such shouldn't need to be hand held in order to run that business. You either learn and make changes or fail. But, unfortunately, the quality of driver has gone down hill and the companies make these changes to keep them.
Like I said, they have to balance the need for your success with their need to make money.1badjimmy Thanks this.
