Arby's takes a stab at venison sandwiches
Might be worth a try. Supposed to be in select stores by end of October. 17 stores is not a very big test market ... Naturally they won't test market in any truck stop locations

Wouldn't surprise me at all if that "venison" turned out to be dog meat. Have I mentioned that I haven't been to an Arby's since almost dying from food poisoning from one, back in the '70's......

I'll eat there every now and then. Not a huge fan but never had any problems like you speak of. Every now and then the pressed roast beef cut might be kind of "rough". I love their apple and cherry turnovers and their "gyro" is not half bad for something different.

I just read in the news the U.S. is importing beef from Brazil. This is in anticipation of ELD's which industry insiders know will slow beef transport to a crawl, that's why they are importing it on large container ships then railing it into mass markets.
We thought our jobs were under attack from driverless trucks, now there simply won't be any jobs when they outsource it to other countries.
Glad to see they are doing something with the venison though. The hunters can't possibly eat it all; the hunter population is dropping every year. Fewer and fewer predators to keep the deep population down.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I don't buy it Scottie , I can't think of any major carrier for tyson , cargill or jbs that isn't on elogs already .
If anything elogs have forced packers to get their act together and the load late deliver early way of doing things 20 years ago doesent fly any more.
I do however think that the livestock hauling industry is in for changes never before seen .scottied67 Thanks this. -
The venison will have to be "farm raised" and USDA approved to be sold like that (through commercial retail food service channels) [if I'm not mistaken]
-
Yep, they're grass-fed on farms. Only being sold for three days at four stores here in Michigan. Luckily, two are within driving distance, and I can park my truck at a Home Depot for the one I'm more likely to get to.

Not really on topic, but but I spent almost an hour last Thanksgiving regaling a hippie vegan family member with stories about my wildlife relocation and restocking program.
She was really into it until she finally realized I was relocating said wildlife and restocking it into my freezer. For a college girl she's pretty gullible.KillingTime, CasanovaCruiser, albert l and 7 others Thank this. -
I have had Venison out of the skillet. It's powerful strong in winter as a boost to life.
Im not sure I want fast food deer. I'll stick to Hardees for the time being. THEY used to have roast beef and if they can just hurry it back up...
Remember in Arbys buy two JR's of whatever sandwitch you crave, you get more meat for a little less money compared to the big preminum adult burgers.
