Well, best laid plans don't survive the opening minutes of action. Unknown to me, the place in grand forks set a piece of machinery destined for Idaho falls on the trailer alongside their taters that were destined for Caldwell. Dispatch didn't know about it either. Nor did the guy I was apparently supposed to deliver it to. So now I have to drive back to Idaho falls and deliver this piece of machinery at 1100 tomorrow. All they had to do in grand forks is say something about it...

Yeah but I've had a few stressful days.

Got me rolling Friday afternoon and told Matt when I would get there. Showed up and they told me I was late and they weren't going to unload me that I would have to reschedule .

I called after hours dispatch and talked to Nick. He said offer them money to unload it. They said they don't so that, if you're late you reschedule.

Talked to the manager there, explained the situation, told him I had another load I was supposed to pick up in the morning, got talked to like a dog and basically treated like a liar. He finally said I'll unload you this time but never again. (that's the nice version without all the grown up words. )

My pickup was at Anheuser in Columbus, OH. It was a drop and hook and was loaded when I got there. Never been there before. Long story short and without all the drama, I felt like drinking the whole load when I finally left there.

Stopped in Spice land last night for some much need relaxation and a good steak.

Sitting in CR now. Deliver in Rogers in the am. Pickup and head to Maxton tomorrow. Gotta ask for more time bc it doesn't have enough to deliver on time.

 

Dang...sounds like it's your turn to cover some of my usual type of lucky runs...

 

I got live loaded down in Gaylord 9 hrs early.. On a Sunday... When the shipping office is closed....
This enabled me to get on down the road and not take my break in a muddy Michael Foods lot waiting till 3-4am to check in.
Now I'm sitting in Albert Lea, MN enjoying a meal, a beer and the WS game 5...
And my 2 day trip to San Antonio is much easier....
Gotta love that.....
