Running with JCT, Part Deux

Well I can say that the dash cam in the picture sucks. It was $25 at Loves. It comes with the camera, usb cable, 12v plug, and a micro sd card adapter. You have to provide your own micro sd card. An 8gb card will get you 3.5 hours of recording. A 16gb will get you 7 hours of recording and a 32gb will get you 14 hours. It will not recognize more than 32gb. Even if you put a 64gb card in it, it will only use 32gb of that space. Here is a picture of the camera:

The directions say you can change the quality of the video to 1080, but really it has two settings. 720 and VGA. The camera itself sucks and is really low quality in the day and isn't even a wide angle lens. Forget about getting anything at night. Here is a video clip from the camera:


I wouldn't recommend buying this dash cam. Save your money and get a good quality one.

I like it. Has the Bluetooth so you can view it or capture video from your smartphone phone. Has a good picture and angles and all that but I really just like being able to peek outside from my bunk. lol

Nice. If it was weather proof, it would be perfect for mounting on the back of the truck and remote view the reefer unit temps and for alarms.

This is an interesting place to pick up from. Nothing like narrow four lane road and a tight turn from the interstate to make life interesting. And to make a little more interesting, you have to park on the street and check in before you pull up to the gate.

 

And down again in Freightliner in Salt Lake City. Check engine, MIL, Flashing DEF light with a full tank and a 55mph derate in Wyoming. While I was relaying info to Breakdown via QUALCOMM because I was in a signal black hole, the check engine and the DEF light went out. Engine back to rated speed. However since I was about to cross Nevada on 80 and go down Donner, figured...may want to get this looked at since the code is still active. There be a long way between things in Nevada.

Yep. Already getting loaded. The most interesting part is about to come. The getting out back onto the busy narrow four lane road.

 

Did that come with any storage? Or is it camera only? Cant really tell from the amazon link

48 hours later. Still got it. lol
But should be off loaded today.
