Watsontown requires 2 years experience so I'm told but its something to strive for. I too have talked to some pretty happy drivers there. Schneider can be hit or miss it seems depending on the position.
I work on the International Paper account out of Western Ohio and I live in NJ. Home every weekend usually for 45 hours or so. Sometimes around 70 hours if I want but can't do that all the time or we'd go broke. It's mostly drop and hook usually running deadhead back to Ohio. I'll do about 2 back hauls a month so usually it's deliver, then turn and burn back to base so I get good miles even though it's dedicated and most customers are East of the Mississippi. There's no waiting around for a load. There's better gigs out there I'm sure, but I'm happy there.

Yep they're still around. They did have some issues a few years back. They have lost their authority and nearly went bankrupt from what I've been told.
They're leased to Quality now, and doing better I guess. They also bought Donmoyer out two years ago. And still holding up the process at Evansville cement mill.poppapump1332 and Blackshack46 Thank this. -

Hmm..I personally have never seen them pulling anything other than the bigger trailers used for plastic or food grade. Interesting.Blackshack46 Thanks this. -
Have you looked at either Yourga Trucking or Nick Strimbu?
cjbuckeye and Pintlehook Thank this. -

And thank you to everyone else for the suggestions, haven't had a lot of time to reply the past few weeks. I've been waiting around to hear about a few local gigs but if nothing turns up within the next week or two I'm probably gonna have to accept one of these other offers or i'm gonna fall too far behind with no income. I'm still mainly looking at schneider for their IP account or TMC, and also have an orientation invite in 2 weeks from PGT. PGT has sounded good so far from what i've been able to find out about them, but there isn't a whole lot of info on them online that isn't really outdated. Was also considering Schneider Bulk for awhile but from what i've been reading around here is that it isn't the best time for them, a lot of people I see talking about low miles and sitting for days constantly.Last edited: Nov 15, 2016

I'm talking about the reefer food product side in case you were wondering. Not the fuel delivery side.
Never mind, just looked. They want three years experience. Indeed said two years or 130,000 safe miles.
Either way, if I wasn't such a little .... I would have applied to run fuel for them long ago. They are a good company if in your future, you wish to do something local.Last edited: Nov 15, 2016
