When I drove one in school (giant pos truck) I did like big mirrors-easier to see whats going around.

My Volvo is a 2001 with a Cummins N14. My mechanic who works on mine and newer Volvos says that mine is built much better than the newer ones, meaning pre-2003.
HopeOverMope, KB3MMX, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Volvos are good for a company driver, but for an owner operator its a little headache.
Dont get me wrong i love volvos. it pulls really good thru the mountains, most comfortable ride ever.
But the o/o perspective they are not the most cost efficient trucks. expensive parts, most dealers charge high hourly rate. its hard to find a dealer close by and if you find one close by they might be closed early.scythe08 and Midnightrider909 Thank this. -
MidWest_MacDaddy and Lepton1 Thank this.

I don't believe people hate volvos...what they hate are the crowd and quality of the people who are commonly associated with them.
Highway Sailor, KB3MMX, kylefitzy and 3 others Thank this. -
p.s. yeah the "?" was needed. I don't mean to offend anyone. -
Labor almost has to be at a dealer and high part(s) prices. Company I work for has several hundred Volvos . Nice trucks but I personally prefer the Freightliners. Have several KW also, but still choose the Freightliners. Most shops can work on them , parts are less costly .Build quality is close across the board today.
