Once they find out drivers are not in the sleeper berth but are logging their time as such they'll be using those cameras to catch more "cheaters" by running them 24/7. The tearless retina will be peering into your bedroom all night long.

Ironically, there were still be a plethora of sheeple more than willing to comply with such an intrusion. I cannot wait until they put a BMI limit and dietary restrictions on drivers. Let's see how upset they get then!

TMT, I suggest you do a little more research on the matter. There have been many instances of the camera being turned on at will by the operator AND "technical difficulties" causing the sensor that triggers said camera to be "broken" and/or overly sensitive. Furthermore, several corporations have verbiage in their consent forms that state they can run the eye anytime they want.

Not only that, but the bandwidth only affects the recording of the camera.
Someone could be watching you at all times from a computer and recording it.
It can act as a simple web cam.

Not surprising the way those people drive.

Judging from the email the "gentleman" in question used to sign up with, and the facebook page it produces on a google search, my belief is both.

I've always found that Line 1/Line 2 distinction to be unenforceable.

What if nature calls at 3am?
Is a driver doing the horizontal mambo with a lizard really getting rest?
When DOT looks at your logs how do they know if you were sleeping or not?
    What's next?
Tying the eLogs to a sensor on the door?

In theory Line 2 means your asleep. But I've spent 6+ hours in my bunk watching movies only to not be rested enough as well as spent 8 + hours sleeping on a couch at a friend's house while off duty.

Just shake your naked booty at the camera until they order eye bleach by the case. If you really want them to stop watching you.

There was a driver on here a couple years ago who had a CSA violation report for log falsification; he had logged off duty but admitted to the officer he slept in the truck.

The log violations are semantics. The issue is the camera recording you but they'll use negative examples of duty status violations as an excuse to do it. This is merely history repeating itself over and over again. It'll never end. Freedom isn't "free" it requires due diligence and perseverance. Problem is, too many sheeple are completely ok with it. One thing I've learned is that there are many people that simply do not care about freedom at all and are totally content being a slave in some form or another. It's a huge struggle for me but I hopelessly try to accept their plight in stride.

I've often said that they should just eliminate the sleeper berth line on the log book/e-logs. There's really no reason for there to be 2 different entries for the same basic thing....OFF DUTY.

Years ago I drove for allied waste, got to my truck to find a camera looking at me at 2 am that morning. Ran my route and turned in my two week notice upon arrival that afternoon. Worked there ten years with no accidents. THAT IS THE LINE IN THE SAND FOR ME! It's just to far!

Many FedEx Ground Contractors already have them in their trucks. Seen several at my terminal and had to drive one a few months ago.
