Lets not make an issue out of this................

If I was in a scale with the new Guy and he was getting a ticket or lecture for tarp over tape,Id Tell the Driver to Back up and I'd handle it with the officer........Kinda like how your mom or dad used to go to your school and Talk to the principal to get you out of trouble

I'm not sure if that's sarcastic or not... If my dad was going to the school to talk to the principal about me, I made sure I did twice the chores I was supposed to do... and did them better, with more detail than they had ever been done before! This was all done to try to get his belt to show mercy to my backside. Never worked though.

I can't believe that it is otherwise they wouldn't make a big deal out of you not having any. But I suppose that it "Up to the officers descretion".

Sounds like one of those innocuous things like an ABS light or clutter on the dash that could potentially be a written invitation for further inspection. That and I can see no reason to go over the rail.

The answer is no. You also aren't supposed to strap or chain outside the rub rail. And that concludes my knowledge on the subject. I'll look up the relevant fmcsr for you in a bit.

You get 3" on both sides for tarps and securement. Can't cover the reflective tape though. That's the law conistoga use. They put tape on the frame below the rub rail to qualify.

With enough bungees, the tarp should stay on top or even thru the rail
