Poly had the potential to provide more...simply because they paid hub miles. At the time I went up 1 penny over what Crete paid, got paid for every mile and had a faster truck. Then both companies raised their per mile, but Poly still would have paid more at the end of the year...if their equipment would have been more reliable that is. The benefits at Poly were similarly priced and had $0 deductible, but I was told they had a more limited maximum payout per year. Plus Crete has one thing Poly doesn't...micromanaging management. As long as you did your job at Poly, you had very little contact with them. They let you make decisions without 2nd guessing you. At Crete, when I was there, you always had the feeling someone was looking over your shoulder making sure you we making the right choice.

I was told by Compliance dept. Poly is getting all new trucks in January. Supposedly they're buying 5 or 6 different brands/styles and letting drivers give feed back to determine which way to go, but definitely no more Internationals.

That's the best business decision they could have made in years...I may have to start saving my nickles and dimes so I can afford to go 4 months without health insurance in order to come back...

    Just figured out 2016 totals...
Paid per diem for 234 days...
We all know that's for days worked not sitting at poly.
My actual days out , (not home) was 272
So days sitting at poly 38.
My adjust gross after adding 2600 to my ytd earnings came up over 56k
Now out of 38 days at poly , sitting i worked local like 10. Realistically i could have probably worked 26 or 27.
Meaning i could've made a couple K more ifvnot for my lazy nature at times.
So fact is , 93 days home and that's without using my 2weeks vacation that i still have available rolled over to 2017. And appx 28days at GP ... making zero
Made over 56k , not even mentioning the 6% 100% match going into 401k.
This easily could be 60k annually , but sometimes my back nags me into sitting at the plant rather than local.
I said it before and still feel the same , there's more worse for me out there than better for where I live.

    majestyk Thanks this.

The 2600 i added to my ytd was for 100 extra federal tax I pay each pay check ...ensuring bigger returns at tax time.

heard that awhile ago so i guess its true, its why i tried to get on again, if i were giving feedback i would go for whatever trucks they will put synthetic oil in and only service every 50k miles, avoid the shop and life would be pretty sweet in poly land. i will be curious to see if they get new trucks and the shop isnt so backed up if you will still have to go in a loaner when service is due. i wouldnt think so but anything is possible.

My Pete's PACCAR schedule is 30k for an "A" and 60k for a "B" per the manufacturer...since Poly only does "B"' services, that would mean they would only see the truck twice a year unless it has issues.

I dont understand what you mean by adding 2600 to your ytd gross because you paid more into taxes. Gross is gross it doesn't matter what you paid in taxes right? Just because you get more back doesn't mean it raises your gross or am I missing something?
