So , turned out that I have to drive from Washington DC to Richmond during RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.
Have anyone tried to use 301 instead of I95? IS IT TRUCK LEGAL route?
US301 instead of I-95?

U.S. 301 is truck legal, but the traffic ( plus the 80 traffic lights) can be just as bad. There is also a toll at the bridge going into Virginia. Just so you are aware.

Stay on I-95 just enjoy the scenery. JMHO

Much better than 95. It'll feel like you not on the east coast. For an hour, and then you'll be back in chaos.

301 is truck legal, but honestly not much better. Tons of traffic lights & a plethora of cars will slow you down just as badly as DC gridlock. Pick your poison.

Depends on where you are ... if you are already on the east side of the loop, take 301. But I wouldn't go around the loop from the west side to get to it.

When I go up to Jersey thats the only way i go. Get off 295 at exit 41 then stay on 301 all the way to Middletown DE to hwy 896 over to US13 to 1 and that will put you on I95 at MM4.

Oh, yeah and there is a little T/S, with a restaurant, on the Maryland side just before the bridge. It has the absolutely unqualified worst food that I have ever had at any restaurant I've ever been to, anywhere in the world.
trucker3205 and Ruthless Thank this. -
I could go 78 to Harrisburg,PA and then take 81 , but fully loaded tanker and those hills up and down...Meh
Thanks again to everyone who replied!
