I like the lack of supervision, but then again with companies putting these inward facing cameras in the trucks and Elogs that's out now too. On a side note I find it hilarious that there was so much blowback about Police Officers being asked to wear body cams during an 8-10 Hour work shift but no one talks about Truck drivers having cameras in the trucks they literally live in for weeks/months on end. I respect Cops but I mean, really?

I know it sucks and why I don't miss driving trk.Trk drivers a are 100% controlled by the government and by the motor carrier and it's getting worse.Companies think more money is going to fix the problem but they can't be anymore wrong.I got a call from a congressman representative,he left me a long voicemail. He likes all my suggestions.I remember writing him but it's been so long ago I forgot all I said.I did try calling back but got some automated message I couldnt understand so I'm going to look him up online today. He did say in the voicemail that he aggrees, the industry is overregulated.

Was talking to a jockey at Anheuser a few months back in Ohio - asked him what he pulled down. $21/hr.... That's a pretty good racket.

I just got off the big road a few months ago and went back to a company I worked at years ago. Winter months(I live in northern ON, Canada); I am in the shop and typically work 7 am to 5 pm. Come spring summer and fall I'm in a dump truck and usually work 6 am to 6 pm. There are some longer days of course but at the end of the day, I shut the shop door or the truck door and I go home.

Long haul I ran loose leaf so if I wasn't tired and was under a load, I was trucking. Made good money but like all of the guys who complain about it; I had no social life and wasn't home to see the miss' much.

    Dharok Thanks this.
