You won't run that many miles. 75 to 85 max. The cost seems high at first glance, are you including your salary?

I'm with Spyder on your break even rate seeming high. I have a new truck and my break even is a lot lower. You may want to double check things like insurance cost here at Mercer and the fuel discount. Having those numbers wrong can throw a wrench in you est. As for your est miles? It's high for me but if you pull van it might be low. Those guys work a lot harder.

    GUEST SAID:
I am including salary which is probably high (optimistic) of 75,000. If miles are less then I can live with less.

    Also 2,000 tire acct
    $3,000 general maintenance acct
    $5,000 repair fund.
    $2,100 for plates
    $500 for insurance

I am not sure of fuel discount but put 2.50/gal. Truck is now getting consistent 6.5-6.75 a gallon.
    I am planning flatbed.

    I appreciate the feed back.

You may run 110,000 miles while trying to figure the system out. If I remember correctly I put 126k on my truck the first year. I've probably only put about 90k on it this year.

They weigh less than 2k lbs a reel. Why wouldn't 1 chain be ok?

Then your numbers are a close guestimate. You really won't be able to fine tune them till you have been or here running a while.

    suicidejockey1007 Thanks this.
