How does this short bored work? Thinking of running small loads around Ohio KY area.

 

If you go on the short haul board you have first pick of all loads under 400 miles. 401 miles and guys on the regular (called 'system') board get first pick.

2 real examples that happened back in December. I ran one of the airplanes out of tampa, delivered that afternoon about 3 pm. Skateboardman brought a load down to south florida and delivered earlier in the same day. An engine move hit the board. 700 dollars on 0 miles. I got the load even tho he was empty first cause i am on the short haul board. A week before a round trip out of tampa paying 2.75/mile power only, a guy that just got empty got it instead of me (been empty like 3 days sitting at home) cause it was 420 miles.

Yep. Nothing is perfect so you gotta go with which better fits what you want to do. But in an area like Indiana there is such an abundance of decent freight that you can run short haul on the system board as a good test run.

 

i think long as i can do $500 a day ill be happy with that lol.

Pete i run that area for 2 to 3 weeks at atime i dont use the short board there probably about 75 or more trucks on it never had problems keeping loaded watch the board and stay a few loads ahead

 

So who does there own oil changes? If a isx takes 14 gallons of oil. That's 3 buckets at $70 a pop. That's 210 + tax. Filters around 40. Then grease 3 bucks. I really wouldn't be saving much doing my own oil change

 

@TruckerPete1990 did you get the cameras installed?

 

Not yet been too cold outside.once it warms up I'm install them. The outside ones are a pain Cuz I don't wanna zip tie the wires to my mirror arms. Trying to hide the wires.
