Well mark is a beta tester for one of the majors. I will also say he will do anything he can to help you with your gps. Thank you Mark for what you do.

Rand offers you two route options. Why do you need three. I rarely need the option of 2.

I run a rand 730, a Garmin dezl 570 I bought when my rand was getting switched out, and Google which I really just use for satellite view of hotels and dealers.

HaulinCars, DRAGON64 and Mark Kling Thank this.

Yes I work for RM and that is common Knowledge here.. When you mention that the Rand gave you bad routing of course I want to know where and what kind of device you are using. You may have an older device not on current maps and thus you have routing issues. I have see drivers still using T5B's from 2008 which is RM's first unit. Maps will never be updated in those units since EOL has come and gone. You posted in this thread and not the support thread. I asked you to jump these issues to the support thread.

I see all the time drivers come on TTR and post stuff in other threads. That is my job to find those issues and see what causes it. I have done this since 2008. How can one better their product if they do not keep on top of issues such as yours.

You mentioned you had bad routing in one of your first posts. Let me know that area and I can test. If it is an issue with current maps then I am testing the next set of maps soon to be released. I can verify if the issue is still there or not.

Without knowing what device I have no clue what maps you are on. It is not hard for someone to come on here and post something just to degrade a product. It is done all the time. I am not saying you are doing this, but since you posted several issues then give me the time so I can verify if it is an issue.

If you do not wish nor remember the location of the wrong Junction View's then give me the serial number off the back of your unit. I can tell by this what Maps you are on.

You posted an issue, several in fact. Give me the chance to verify your findings and resolve the issue.

If your maps are older then chances are that the issue has been fixed, but unless I know the location I can never verify.

PS... look at my signature line...

    crb and DRAGON64 Thank this.

Well, now we are getting somewhere. Just like common sense that is no longer all that common in that a lot of people do not seem to have it, the common knowledge that you work for Rand is not all that common because until yesterday I had never heard of you which by the way is neither my fault or yours, but for you to assume I knew who you are is errant on your part. - Forgiven and forgotten, moving on..

I beleive you may have me mistaken with Tommy Trucker 88. He is the one you lectured about having posted "Technical issues" in the wrong forum. Again, moving on...

I do not see that you have. Signature line. As I understand it a signature line would automatically show at the end of your post. I see nothing after "PS look at my signature line". Again, moving on.

Might I make a suggestion? Next time you join a thread it might be VERY helpfull if you said something like, " Hi, I'm Mark and I work for Rand McNally and if you would like to post details of the problems you mentioned in the tech support thread on this forum (link provided) I would be most happy to try to help find and fix the issue(s)".

Had that happened you would have gotten an entirely different response from me.. Again, moving on...

Now, knowing you are somehow (how exactly?) directly associated with RM I'll be most happy to discuss in detail any and all issues I have with my TND and do so in as much detail as you would like.

Would you prefer to just carry on in this thread since we have already obviously moved so far away from the OPs initial intent that it will likely never return, or should we start a new conversation elsewhere, and if so, where? (If you could provide a link to the new location that would be great).

    Standing by...

Ok, hold the phone... Speaking of phone I am currently using my phone to view/respond to this forum.

About this signature line deal.. When I wrote the above response what I said was accurate in that there was nothing below that comment. After I posted that I went back and looked again and saw "Technical Support Engineer III"
That really doesn't tell me a lot. "Rand McnallyTechnical Support Engineer III" tells me TONS...
(I don't know how to turn off the bold that I got when I did the copy/paste.... Sorry)

Word quibbles?? Really? All I'm saying is "tech support engineer" does not tell me who you are and what kind of tech support you give.

Do you work for the website? Garmin? RM? Of all people I would think that you, the person asking for details, would understand the need to be specific.

After all, I did mention problems with BOTH Garmin and RM. If I had wasted my time to go into explicit detail about the issues with my Garmin since you don't work for them what good would that have done anybody?

Gee, I hardly think that is a minor "quibble" but then again I'm just an ignorant truck driver, what do I know?

Any chance of getting a link to that other forum so it will be easy.. No, a sure thing that not only I can find it but so can anybody else who is interested can easily find it?
