Maybe AT&T just sucks, lol. I used to tether my phone all the time, didn't cost me anything extra, but then they convinced me to switch to an unlimited data plan because it would save me $20/month. I was paying for 40 GB and using every bit of it. The first time I tried to tether my phone after that it wouldn't let me. I called them to complain and pay whatever I needed to in order to allow it and they said they block it on unlimited plans. I tried to swap back to my 40GB plan and they said that was a promotional price, so I could but it would cost me like $100 more. It's not worth that much to me, so I just don't tether the phone anymore.

@Razorwyr that's why I don't tether through Sprint's tethering service. I don't want to pay extra for it. From my understanding (I could very well be ignorant to the situation) they can't block it since I go through an app.

Verizon just came out with the new $80 unlimited plan. Not sure if it allows tethering. I haven't checked into it yet but I plan to.

Question for you all. Will a DD13 rated at 450 HP be adequate with the anticipation of pulling step/flat deck freight? It is spec'd with the Ultrashift Plus transmission and 3.42 rears. (mid-roof sleeper)
I'm also considering another mid-roof with DD15 rated at 475 HP, same transmission and 3.25 rears. The salesman mentioned to me that their factory sales rep has discouraged them from ordering DD13s in sleeper trucks and has encouraged them to order the DD13 in day cab applications only. The implication was that a DD13 is underpowered for a sleeper truck application.
I'm curious to hear your perspectives. Thanks!Last edited: Feb 19, 2017

450 hp gets the job done. 80k lbs is 80k lbs. Didn't matter if it's loaded in a box or on an open deck. The real number you need to be looking at is torque. When talking about climbing a hill when loaded, torque is the number that matters. That being said, more hp usually translates to more torque.
