Nah, I just looked at some bungees I have on my truck, and sho'nuff they say "WLL 50". I still prefer straps or chains to hold stuff down, though.

I only ask folks to cite the regs when I know they are full of excrement with their claims of what is contained in that little green book...especially when they make their font extra large while making that claim.

Get on the CB and ell them for $10 ea at the truck stop. You will get lots of guys who need them for the next load and don't want to buy new. Out of your way and a nice profit.

I've had extra load locks and tried to give them away over the CB, impossible.
One of our drivers threw 10 brand new tire chains away because he was over gross and a giant moron, in Mt Vernon, IL,
It took a good 20 minutes on the radio to give them away.

pulling a reefer, how do you avoid having your load locks left inside sealed trailers when customer requires you to drop trailer and it be sealed.

I know some loading customers don't witness you sealing, just hand you a seal, and you can remove your load locks @ receiver, seal it, drop trailer.

Have only done that a couple times. At one point I was at zero load locks. Was going to buy two more and turn in the receipt for reimbursement but another driver sold me two of his for $20, he needed the money to eat so I figured to put out some good Karma into the world.

Other times, say a repower, the repower driver gives the repowered driver two loadlocks which the repower driver will get back when they dock at the customer.

I have on more than one occasion, busted the seal to retrieve my loadlocks, put a new seal on it, but put the appropriate information on the bills. It never came back to bite me.

When I do a drop and hook and the guard shack won't let me break the seal to get my load straps,....I won't admit to it, but popping the seal once I'm backed in their yard and grabbing my straps and then putting another seal on it, I mean, are the yard dogs really going to check the seal number when they open the doors?
