If I don't end up parking my truck soon I'll be making my Mercer trailer a front lift axle.

    Airborne Thanks this.

So my $3/mile load to ND cancelled after I left the house at 4 am, deadheaded 330 of the 360 miles to pick it up. They are giving me TONU on it, but went from a $6200 week to crap real quick. I've managed to book a couple of loads to get me where I needed to be for my Wednesday load so I didn't have to cancel it, and I still have a free day on Tuesday, so maybe I can still break $6k, but that phone call was very disappointing this morning.

On a brighter note, I'm using my new tarps for the first time and they look much much better. Also, the fact that they weigh 120 lbs is a double positive, I'll get a workout every now and then and I'm just that much less likely to take a tarp load now because they are a ##### to throw.

Just waiting on the right time. Life happened & it just never felt like the right time.

For some reason I thought it was blue.

    Better late than never. Lol

I got passed by a new WS pulling a 'stoga today, sure was pretty.

So I made a trip from OKC to Flagstaff & then Phoenix right back to Oklahoma. I think I got passed by everything today. I used to run I-40 every week & I was the one passing everyone but I only passed one truck on this trip out & back. Lol. I'm the new swift.

For pulling a step deck, what is the absolute shortest wheelbase that would be acceptable? (72" sleeper cascadias or 82" sleeper western stars). If I could get by with 232" it would open up a few more available trucks for consideration. I have a 234" now but I don't haul any long stuff requiring front overhang. The company I'm currently with has been ordering 234" for their flatbed fleet for a few years now. I haven't heard of any issues, but not sure how big of a deal reducing to 232" would be. Thoughts?

Must've passed you in the night. I'm in Vega, TX fixing to continue east. I saw quite a few Mercer vans running west these past few days but only a couple flats/steps.
