Is coasting in neutral bad

    Honestly, I don't think I could actually double clutch, I was taught to slip shift from day one and I've done it now for 20+ years.


    Schneider has the eco roll in their autos, it's added about 1-1.5 mpg for the Intermodel fleet that runs Chicago to IA every day. It also helps that they added a full fairings to the day cabs.

    I agree, there is a reason the tow truck disconnects the drive line when they tow the truck instead of leaving it in neutral....

    Usually, it's only bad to coast downhill in neutral if you hit something

    As long as the engine is running and the clutch engaged, everything is fine, and there's no real load on the tranny anyways. But yeah, spinning the output shaft only can cause problems.
