I'll be looking for something local. I don't mind being out a couple of nights in the week. But no more than that. I did 4 years of OTR. No more lol.

Amen to that. I spend theee nights a week in the truck now and really enjoy it. A fourth night isn't going to happen unless I make a rare trip to California.

When I did that with my license. It took two weeks for the fingerprints to clear. Pretty quick. New Jersey took six weeks.

Did you move from NJ to Texas? If so, What do you do for work there?

I had an Illinois License. I went to Texas to haul crude oil. I went to Jersey, where I am now. I want to move away.

The Mosquitoes are not that bad down here, though I did kill one last night with a tick on it!

On a more serious note there is quite a bit of work, especially around the larger cities like Dallas and Houston. For truck driving I would consider Dallas and Houston the parking lots for Hell! With all the construction and forever traffic jams it is not for everybody and my hat is off to those that make a living driving a truck in it.

I was planning on going to Ohio. Buy farm land. I pay rent for my tractor trailer to park up in Jersey and taxes are insane. Then my engine spun a bearing and I bought a newer truck. Then an injector stuck open and the engine overrevved. So, it's a partial inframe.

I like flat and am happy with Mercer. But, the rates are low for four months out of the year and I want more income to pay off the start of this year.

    I'm exploring at this point.
