Hi all am still not even in school yet. but i just lost my job the company i worked for the last 6 years closed and i was making good money with them that i know i won't be able to get it with new company so am heading to driving trucks for living. am in GA and found this program (WOIA) that may pay for my tuition if i can approve that i can get hired by a truck company (any) so am in process of doing that now i have 2 violation or maybe 3 in the last 3 years can't remember really cause never thought of it as big deal the last one is like 5 months ago was speeding was 63 m on 45 road. paid online again cause i really didn't think my driving record could impact my life at all or it will prevent me from doing any job. and have one more i think year ago was failing to maintain lines at 4AM no cars nothing around me and still pulled over and i didn't even know what to say i was laughing in his face and saying am coming back from work and there is NO ONE in the street he still gave me the ticket and i think am not sure about the last one if it was 4 or 3 years or maybe 5 years ago hitting the red line. it was again at 4 am coming back from work in RURAL area dead area no one there and the light has censor so i had to stop for 10 min with NO ONE in the street or just move so i moved and he came from no where lol just to give me the ticket.
anyway cause again i wasn't really care much about my driving record i didn't get a lawyer or even go to court so i just paid online and get it over with.
am not here to get lecture about my driving i know that i did something wrong but am driving Elentra lol so its smaller that even a normal sedan or SUV if i knew this will impact my life in anytime i will be way more careful and or will go to court or get a lawyer if anything like this happened.
so please is there any truck company like Swift or PTL or any that will higher me or the driving record on C class cars will still impact me and prevent me from getting a job. i never had an accident or any conviction of any kind in all my life the only time i see the police station was to get friend out lol never used drug never had any problem of any kind... the 3 point in my driving history is because the speeding ticket and the failed to maintain line. are those going to prevent me from getting a job please if anyone know. and thanks in advance for the help
have 3 point on my driving record and got speed 18+ will i get hired ?

Get a copy of your MVR so you know exactly what is on there. You need to know exactly what is on your MVR so you don't have to guess when talking to a company representative. They will want to know the exact dates of the tickets and exactly how the MVR describes the tickets.
Here's a few companies that might hire you:
Carolina Cargo
Carolina Logistics
TransAm
USA Truck
Florida Beauty Express
These companies bend their own hiring rules. Apply to all of them and tell them you need a pre-hire to qualify for truck driving school.Last edited: Apr 11, 2017

HA.
I had 8 points at one time one bad year when it finally was snipped by the judge to prevent a host of automatic state actions at the 9th point. A little snip here, some cash there and play acting contrite while being bawled out in the DMV late at night... Consituted a rehab program for idiots such as myself back in the day.
People will hire you. But you will have long periods of unemployablity until your DAC stops reporting and your DMV Records stop reporting these violations which will take a couple of years. Should you continue to be a bad boy... we cannot help you because at a certain point no one will hire you at all. Unless you take advantage of the great American Oppertunity to buy a thousand trucks and hire 2000 drivers to live large on 5th. -
You don't want a lecture about your wreckless driving habits but then come to a professional driver site for help? All to ask a question that with a simple Google search you could have called the company directly and asked.
Sleepy driving and not maintaining your lane is deadly serious. I just followed someone who couldn't maintain her lane for 30 miles the other night and was luckily able to get her stopped. She didn't even know who was behind her. I really hope your attitude changes or you loose your driving privileges before you kill someone.homeskillet, UsualSuspect and x1Heavy Thank this. -

The major problem is getting some people to understand that driving habits can get you in serious trouble even in prison. I was reading some of the replies and thinking about some situations over the years where drivers have lost their Driving privileges even before the CDL law came into effect in 1992. Speeding, failure to maintain lane, texting and drunk driving cases are made against truck drivers nation wide almost everyday in the US in trucks and their personal vehicles. I will tell the OP this. I know you don't want a lecture, but look at your driving record. YOU MUST get rid of that lead foot in whatever you are driving. If you don't stop getting cases made against you even if you do find a job their safety dept will call you and fire you. Don't forget the FMCSA requires ALL companies that employ CDL drivers to do a yearly review of them. It would surprise you at the drivers that lose their jobs because of this review, end of lecture.

You know your record is poor, obviously don't care about insurance cost, others on the roadway, even admit you laugh at the cops because no one else is on the road, and now you want someone to hand you the keys to an 80,000 lb rig so you can continue being a hazard? You need to put on your big boy pants, grow up, and stop making excuses, someone was around, the LEO you did not see, and since you can't see a law enforcement vehicle, which by the way sticks out like a turd in a punchbowl, I doubt you saw anyone else.
If someone does hire you, I hope you change your ways for the sake of the rest of us out there, be responsible, someone may hire you, but it will be a challenge to find someone who wants to take the risk on someone who has shown they just don't care in the past. That is the reality you don't want to hear. Get a copy of your MVR, be honest, take responsibility, and show anyone who might employ you, that you take driving seriously. The first time you get pulled in for an inspection and laugh in their face, you will find your truck under a microscope, as well as your logs, and anything else that may be remotely under your control. You may lack respect for authority, but while you are laughing they are sharpening their pencil.Last edited: Apr 11, 2017

Anytime you mail in the fine and the ticket, it's a conviction. If you want to be a CDL driver, stop doing that. And pull your head out of your butt and stop getting tickets. Three points on your driving record is going to make it difficult to get a job with the better companies.
Chinatown is right; get a copy of your MVR to find out what's on it. You need the date of the ticket, charge, and disposition (guilty, dismissed, etc.) to fill out an employment application for trucking, and if it doesn't match your MVR you're SOL.
If you really want to drive a truck you gotta tighten up your driving and change your attitude about driving "lol". The insurance companies run the industry now. The days of shrugging off 8 license points are long over.
