I used to work for a Mercer Contractor, but the 25% pay sucked big time.
I only made 35k for the year. I took off maybe 30 days for the year and the truck was broke down for nearly a month for 3 different repairs.
I am now looking to buy my own truck from Lone Mountain.
Based upon my 25% pay which was $35k, that means the truck grossed $140k plus FSC.
With a truck payment of $2500 a month and a trailer with gear running about $550 a month, that is $36,600. From a gross of $140k, that leaves me with $103,400 not including fuel.
What other expenses am I missing?

Right off of the top of my head... how much did repair and towing cost, on those three breakdowns? And preventative maintenance?
-
No clue. I didn't pay the bills.
-
Well, rather obviously, there was money there, that you haven't accounted for in your calculations... probably taxes and vehicles registration fees and licenses and insurances, too...
-
Why should I care how much it cost the contractor to fix his poorly maintained truck?
It forced me to sit and cost me a bunch of money in lost wages. -
How many miles did you run for that 140k ?
-
If you are going to buy your own truck, those expenses are going to belong to you. So, if you are going to do that, then you should probably care how much they amount to.
-
I don't recall. I did more sitting than driving. One of the perils of working for a contractor.
-
Lots of fancy trucks at Mercer .... and you were there so you should know the ropes.....
Will they take you on...? -
I don't see why not. I even have a 1 Year Safe Driving Award

If not, I need to find a second best company
