I'm bitter....but I was born that way...and Juan Valdez could have an IV of coffee in my arm, and it wouldn't help.

Not looking forward to seeing the inside of my trailer. I think it's going to be a nasty cleanout. When I stopped in Beloit the other day to close my tails...red drippings were on my tires and the back of the trailer under the doors was streaked with red...meat loads...can't say I will miss 'em

Honestly, when I opened the doors and got ready to back in, it was a little bloody near the end behind the pallets, but not as bad as I had envisioned...we shall see how much more is under there once I am empty...the only thing that got me this morning is the stench of rotting flesh in the area from the waste products of this kind of place. I use to work at a chicken plant...and I think rotting beef smells worse. Either way, a Blue Beacon stop is definitely in my future, next load is a Napoleon to Hopkins run...anyway....enjoy your breakfast after this post. o_O

SSB, you can get a washout at the Petro in Napoleon (I'm not sure if they'll do the bloody mess or not) either way you have to pay and submit it with trip sheet for reimbursement.

Since I know you guys run MX13s exclusively, and don't excessively idle since you have APUs, can you give me some feedback on the 579/Paccar engine? Are they reliable/pull well/ride well? If anyone has the experience to compare, do they ride better than a Cascadia?
I'm on Schneider Choice and looking to upgrade...have seen a lot of negative feedback on the motors for emissions, but also have no idea how much these people idle them, which I know causes probs with these newer motors. TIA!

On the newer 16's and 17's the motors are fairly reliable now and for how they are set perform well. Keeping in mind we focus on fuel economy they are alright, could definitely use more pulling power, but they get the job done albeit slowly in the mountains.

Compared to a Cummins the engine brake is fairly weak, and we run 10 spds, would be nice to have 13's. Really the trucks are fine and are no worse than many large carriers power wise and are very nicely set up (keeping in mind you're taking a Pete mid-roof). The ride is smooth and quiet, not as good as a Volvo 780 and better than the Cascadia.

    Hope that helps.

I don't know what it is about this month but I just keep running into ####### drivers. Had one in Ohio a few days ago start yelling at me for parking where a shipper told me to because he couldn't back his trailer into a spot but I still unhooked for him so he could get in only to have him yell at me some more while he was driving away about hooking back up to my trailer. Then I just had a guy here in Atlanta at preferred freezer, all I did was knock on his door and ask if he could pull forward so I could get into the driveway to get to my door only to have the guy try and hit me with his door. I was still polite with him after that but he yelled at me for standing outside his door and not saying anything while waiting for him to get out of his bunk but he agreed to move forward and proceeded to call me a weird mother f'er while I was walking away.

You could try my old standby reply, ok don't move I'll just move the truck for you...you're being a lot more professional than most, hang in there.

I remember seeing a sign for it there when I had some tire work done there a while back. It is nasty. When I pulled up to shut my doors, it was a down hill dock, and the back channel was overflowing onto the ground. The shipper corks the drains so it all stays inside...almost makes me want to give up being a carnivore.
