Really? I lease from a company that has no problem fronting repairs. If you go too far negative they raise the maintenance holdback. Mine went from $0.09 to $0.10 per mile. Not a big deal. I had them go to $0.12 to knock it out faster and build a surplus.
I didn't go broke.

I read about another company that gives a $5000 check to their drivers when they hit 5 years service with the carrier lol. Trust me, the company was holding $1000 or more of you money every year and were hoping you wouldn't make it to 5 years, but since you did, no big deal here's your money back. Wouldn't you rather have your $5000 grand in your hand during those 5 years rather than waiting for it?
Too many people get focused on the end cents per mile the lease op makes compared to the company driver. Always remember the cents per mile that are being paid for the truck, the insurance, the maintenance hold-back, the fuel, (write off), is also part of the package the company driver cannot even compare. -
As for used up POS trucks, I could step into a brand new one if I chose too but I don't.
And lastly, here we go with the names. What works for you is great and I won't insult you.

Now get just a little creative or a little less conservative with your business deductions and a LO will pay much less than an employee.
Jump that income up to 75K, then it becomes feasible to form an LLC or an S corp. At that point an LO will be paying thousands less than an employee making the same.drvrtech77 and TAfool Thank this.
