I have not set a date of my arrival yet with my recruiter maybe that's why they haven't given me the price sheet or the requirement of what equipment they want me to have. They did give me the Letter of Intent.

I will have to ask if I can get all 3/8. Im sure I can. The flatbed loads I have done were straps only so don't have any experience with chaining...

I think you will ask for the price sheet, there used to be a list of recommended equipment on the mercertown.com website

You don't need all 3/8ths, they are Moore expensive and heavier. I carry both. I use the lighter 5/16ths 90 percent of the time and the heavier ones on certain loads like a big single coil. yes a grade 70 3/8ths had a little more working load limit but on most freight the smaller chains are fine.

Halpinuout, the reason i said get all 3/8 is you stated you were unfamiliar with chaining for the most part. Getting 2 different sizes like in that kit might cause some confusion til you are totally familiar . As i said i use all 5/16, my point was to possibly keep them all the same. I think the smallest the mercer store has is 3/8 now.

@HalpinUout you won't have a problem mixing them up. While if i randomly handed you a single chain you might not be able to tell me if its a 5/16ths or 3/8ths, with all of them hanging in your headache rack you will easily notice the difference. The size difference in the links is drastic. You would literally have to be blind to not see it, and numbed hands not to feel it. Same with the binders. I'll try to remember to snap a pic when I'm loading this afternoon.

Also, I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you aren't a total dumby and will reference the securement chart listing the wll of different chains and straps that they will give you in orientation. At least until the numbers become stuck in memory.
