it's a learning process and to be honest I'm glad we have experienced it and made the decision not to go in debt for our own truck. I worked in dispatch (different company) several years ago when u took a break from trucking and told the dm I do understand how stressful the job is and we have tried very hard to be understanding. you are very right about night and weekend dispatch but what we have noticed is day dispatch is just as bad now. I though maybe it's my dm and asked for a new dm but it never happened. I'm sure celadon was good company in the past but from my experience and just watching other drivers (company and lease) Noone seems happy. I just want anyone thinking about a lease to really think about it and if u have kids at home please do not do it...

Good post @bnw614 . I'm curious to know though if a lease to one company is a true test as to owner operator capabilities? So much is controlled for you by the company. All of those things will be under your eyes as a true owner operator, and it's a long list.

are you using the Freightrover app to book your own loads or being dispatch by the Celadon?

I used to get 6 weeks when I was there. Every 30,000 you got a week and at 120,000 yearly you got one more and if you got 140,000 plus another week. 6 weeks. But if you took the actual time off you couldn't get the needed miles. But I understand that they phased all us old timers out if the program.

Yes; I get a weeks vacation every 30,000 miles and if I drive 120000 in a year a bonus week.. so go jump in a lake.. I've driven over my bonus amount every year.. I really don't give a crap what you think.. I don't lie..
