Well, since everything else I like to haul with this company has either been lost, become dedicated, or hidden from owner operators, I am now finding myself at the gates of Frito Lay more and more. This week, I find myself there pretty much the entire week, doing nothing but dropping and hooking at their locations until I get to my home load.
Anyhow, these folks require us to somehow secure little tiny boxes of potato chips with load straps. Load Straps that will do nothing to keep the load in place. Load straps that are pointless when you arrive to pick up the load and it is already falling down.
So, how much effort do you make in securing these things?

In order for the straps to work ya just need to get one the highest you can reach , second one a couple rows down. I used to pull out the end rows so I could reach the E trac.
Pull one side out hook both straps and put the row back then the other side. Depends on how tight they are though, sometimes you can pull the whole row out by just grabbing the bottom box.
I would always try and leave only one row across above the highest strap. Sometimes it's a PITA.
Make sense?sealevel, Home_on_wheels and gentleroger Thank this. -
sometimes the exercise is all about whether or not there's 2 straps on the load, whether it's securing anything or not.......jus' sayin'
mathematrucker, sealevel, driverdriver and 1 other person Thank this. -
Use a loadlock, then add straps to keep the trailer walls from flexing and dropping the load lock to the floor

Put a pallet agin the boxes and then load lock or strap, unless you're hauling them on a flatbed.
