OTR is a generic term..
There are regular route carriers as snackbar described and irregular.

 

From what tow has been saying about big g, they have to be one of the few remaining co's with decency towards their employees including drivers... if only more companies would follow suit because if you take care of your drivers your drivers are going to take care of you and everybody's going to be happy but too many of these companies are not concerned about turnover therefore they treat everybody like dirt..

 

Turnover is something they are taking very serious here. But as we all know there are drivers that you are better off not having around.

 

As well as some office people they could do without!!!

 

No good deed goes unpunished. As a "Thank you" for running around in circles in my failed attempt to "help out", they pulled me off my longer West Point VA to Jeffersonville run in favor of a shorter King William to Groveport Ohio run...I told them no when they sent it, but I am stuck on it anyway....#### weekend dispatch...I can see why people choose to go home every weekend here, that way their hemorrhoids don't flair up. The next time I am ask to "help out", my reply will be "#### off", click. New record for me....it usually takes at least 6 month before I switch to a'hole mode...they accomplished it 6 weeks....

 

They did you a favor by taking you off of that west point load.

 

I like you SSB, but I don't think you'll ever be happy with a company job. I'm very similar...you need to go OO

 

Then you can gripe about being broke....

 

I'm an OO leased to Schneider...I'm nowhere near broke
